___________________________
Fundraising at West Hills is one way we support our school and give individual students the ability to participate in many activities throughout the year. The following are all of the ways we raise money for our school, listed alphabetically.

Box Tops for Education

Clip Box Tops and send them to school with your children. Each class will be competing to win a prize for the most collected.

The 2013-2014 goal is to raise $2,500! All money earned will go toward the Science Department. Please contact Stephanie Mehl or Heidi Golden for more information.

Hoop-A-Thon

Every year our students work hard to get pledges and shoot baskets on Hoop Day! It takes many hands to make Hoop-A-Thon possible and we are blessed by generous support from parents in time, talents, and prayers. This fundraiser is a fun event that helps support various needs throughout the school. In addition to raising money, the students also participate in a Spirit Week by showing school spirit dressing up in different themes, such as Hat Day, Crazy Hair Day, or Sports Day.

SCRIP

West Hills takes advantage of SCRIP as an important fundraising tool.

K-3 Grade fundraising goes toward West Hills Need-Based Scholarships.

Families in 4th-8th Grade who participate in SCRIP earn profits directly for their child’s West Hills 8th Grade Washington, D.C. Fundraising Profit Account. Our school and students earn money when families make regular household purchases using pre-paid gift cards. So, instead of paying with cash or credit like you would regularly do, you use prepaid gift cards from your favorite and most trusted retailers.

Why buy SCRIP?

The challenge for families is the need to plan ahead and do normal shopping with gift cards. But the benefit is for the entire school family! By simply planning ahead on everyday purchases like groceries, gas, restaurants, clothes, entertainment and home repair, the average family can earn at least $11 a week. That modest number adds up quickly – over $500 a year for an average family is not unusual. Multiply that by just 20 of our 200+ families, and that’s $10,000 raised, just by making purchases with gift cards.

It’s like free money.

Signing up for Scrip is easy. You fill out the form below and returning it to Julie Smith’s office by the deadline listed. There is no minimum or maximum order, no contracts, no fees, and no commitment. Scrip is ordered and delivered every two weeks.
